Kava comes from the root of the piper methysticum plant, a tropical shrub cultivated in the South Pacific Islands. It contains Kavapyrone, which creates a calm, relaxed feeling in the brain. Similar to the effects of alcohol. Kava is commonly used to treat pain, anxiety and relax muscles. It is a refreshing, cool and pleasant drink. This unique drink has a delayed effect for newcomers. Taking up to 15 minutes to kick in. It has an inverse tolerance; the more regularly you drink it, the faster you'll feel the effects and the less you will need to drink. Regulars will usually have just one cup with almost immediate effect. Root of happiness Kava Bar grinds their own spices for chai tea, tonics and an assortment of teas. They also have kombucha on tap and serve daily specials that are crafted to ease a novice drinker into the experience of Kava. This is an 18+ bar, that seems to be more popular with the 18 to 21 year olds. This is a great date spot. Since it's in a relaxing ,fun environment with things to do to prolong the date. The atmosphere is chill. Relaxing. And a couch you can sink into as u drink your drinks. The decorations are cool, and the art work tell the story behind Kava. The people are friendly and drinks are made fast. Excellent servers. We ordered two big bowls of Kava. All your stress, all your weight is lifted off your shoulders. You can actually breathe. When we left, we felt amazing, and I was able to sleep a full 8 hours.

Arrived on a Saturday night and there was a decent crowd but didn’t have to wait too long to order. We have never experienced kava before so we asked for a recommendation and the gal suggested a cloud chaser so we each got one, one with strawberry syrup and one with honey syrup. We also ordered an orange dream because how can you not as well as a cold brew coffee. The coffee and orange dream were good! The cloud chaser must be an acquired taste because there is no way I could drink it. The gal behind the counter gave us fruit chasers and recommended to just chug it but I had to take a sip first just to see and there is no way I could have chugged a good 6-8 ounces of that. As soon as it hits your lips they do go a little numb or tingle at least but the taste is so bad, if I had to guess what melted down plastic tasted like, it’s a cloud chaser. I’m not sure if it’s the kava taste, I’ve never had kava, or if the drink was just bad but either way we couldn’t do it so I guess we will never know what it feels like after you finish your drink

This place has a fun upbeat atmosphere, I like to come sit during the week to do computer work. This place gets PACKED on the weekends, Thurs-Sun so it's hit or miss if you can find a seat, unless you're solo. Nonetheless, Definitely worth checking out.
