Kavasutra Kava Bar - Lakewood - Kava Bar Experience

I used to go to this bar all the time - it was a fun place to hang out with friends. The bartenders are lovely, kind people and the space is dark and a nice place to go after a long day of work. As of late, though, it has not been welcoming. A friend brought her dog to the bar and it was okay until a male friend showed up. For context, unaccompanied women have brought animals like dogs and snakes (which can spread salmonella!) before without issue. This time, my friend was harrassed out of the bar by a manager once our male friend showed up. I will not be patronizing this bar ever again if this is the kind of predatory favoritism their management shows.

As a long time patron of around 3 years on and off now I've spent thousands at this kava bar and will never go back after my most recent visit. My close friend got kicked out tonight by a manager(I've never seen him actually work there?) for having her Chihuahua with her due to it not being a service animal which would be fair enough if I didn't see a snake there frequently or a pitty come in to hang out just the night before she got kicked out for bringing her dog. I'm not sure why there was such favoritism but it was blatant and highly unprofessional. That all being said the regular bartenders are wonderful and if you do happen to go anyways please remember to tip well. One of the bartenders recently told me this location is full of regulars stacking up $200 tabs nearly daily and tipping $3, between poor tippers and unprofessional management they're in need of good customers.

I got to many kava bars in my travels and usually they have a heavy recovery vibe that feels unwelcoming if that’s not the path you’re on. I usually walk in, get whatever I want, thank them and take it on my way. Here was different, I didn’t see what I wanted so the guy next to me (Mike) ordered for me and gave me the breakdown so I could get what I wanted when the names of products were slightly different. I had many shells with the crowd there, some regulars helped chime in on a technology issue I was experiencing. Everyone was wonderful, welcoming, kind, fun, and pleasant. I will most certainly be back with friends.

Probably one of the best spots to enjoy good music, good people, great services and products and an amazingly chill atmosphere. Hands down the #1 best KAVA bar in the area (and I’ve been to all of them). The bartenders here are super friendly and provide excellent service

Always been a great bar with great service. Fun place, would highly recommend and do recommend/take friends to this place
